Summer Game Fest 2026: The 10 Announcements That Blew Our Minds
Resident Evil Veronica, Alien Isolation 2, Final Fantasy VII Revelation, Until Dawn 2 and more: these were the 10 most impactful announcements at Summer Game Fest 2026.
Summer Game Fest 2026 took place on June 5 and was, without exaggeration, one of the most powerful showcases in years. During two hours, Geoff Keighley's show didn't stop firing announcements. Here are the ones that impressed us most.
1. Final Fantasy VII Revelation — the show's big reveal
The show closed with the official confirmation of Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the third and final entry in the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy. Square Enix had kept quiet for months and dropped it as the final bomb. The internet exploded.
2. Resident Evil Veronica
Capcom announced the remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica, one of the most requested games by series fans. The trailer showed a darker Claire Redfield than ever, with an atmosphere reminiscent of RE2 Remake but with its own twist.
3. Alien Isolation 2
After more than a decade of waiting, Alien Isolation 2 is real. The game promises to return to the first-person survival horror that made the original legendary, with Amanda Ripley back.
4. Until Dawn 2 — the show's surprise
The night's surprise was the reveal of Until Dawn 2, developed by Firesprite (not Supermassive Games). The game promises a new horror story with renewed decision mechanics.
5. Attack on Titan 3 (video game)
Omega Force announced Attack on Titan 3, the video game that will cover the anime's final arc. For fans of the manga and show, this is huge.
6. Stellar Blade: Blood Rain
The content expansion for Stellar Blade, Blood Rain, arrived as a standalone DLC with a new protagonist and a completely new world.
7. Guild Wars 3
ArenaNet officially confirmed Guild Wars 3, ending years of rumors. The MMORPG promises a new graphics engine and a subscription-free shared world.
8. The Wolf Among Us 2
Telltale Games is still alive and proved it with a new trailer for The Wolf Among Us 2, which finally has a release window: 2027.
9. Crazy Taxi: World Tour (and the AI controversy)
Sega revealed the open-world Crazy Taxi reboot with online multiplayer. But the presentation was overshadowed when it was discovered that Sega used generative AI to create game assets. (We covered this separately.)
10. Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance
The Monster Hunter Wilds expansion was shown in detail, with new monsters, biomes, and the return of classic series creatures.
In short: Summer Game Fest 2026 was a festival for gaming fans. If you didn't watch it live, go find it now.
