GTA 6 Has a Date: November 19, 2026 — and It Could Cost $80
GTA 6 arrives November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The price could reach $80 and the PC version will have to wait until 2027 or later.
It's official. Grand Theft Auto VI will launch on November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The date was confirmed by Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick, and Rockstar Games has shown no signs of wanting to delay the most anticipated release in recent gaming history.
How much will GTA 6 cost?
Here comes the most controversial topic: in a March 2026 interview, Zelnick himself hinted that the price could reach $70 to $80. His exact words were that it would be "unfair" to include in-game advertising if someone already paid that amount. Combined with the industry's trend toward higher prices, wallets everywhere are feeling the pressure.
What about PC?
Nothing. There's no confirmed PC release date. Following the pattern of GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2, the most likely scenario is that the PC version arrives 12 to 18 months after the console launch, putting us at late 2027 or early 2028 as the most realistic estimate.
What we know about the game
GTA 6 is set in the fictional state of Leonida (inspired by Florida) and introduces Lucia, the first playable female protagonist in the main series. The map is promised to be the largest in franchise history, with a living, dynamic city packed with activities.
Is the wait worth it?
With over a decade of development, a budget estimated at over $1 billion, and the most-viewed game trailers in YouTube history, the pressure on Rockstar is enormous. But if anyone can deliver on expectations, it's them.
November 19, 2026 is going to be a historic day. Mark your calendar.
